Ashton Ka
This project with living statues is inspired by Asian shadow theatre. The performance incorporates shadows into the urban space, which is cleverly transformed to become a part of the stage.
The two artists collaborate and add the living statue element to enhance the final effect.
Ashton Ka creates her own characters and costumes, facilitating a captivating interaction with the audience – interesting, impressive, fun and most of all special for her.
Ashton Ka is a Bulgarian puppeteer, who began as a living statue in 2011, debuting at the first Mini Art Fest edition. Today, in 2024, she collaborates closely with artists from Bulgaria and Belgium and has worldwide appearances as a living statue. In addition, the actress conducts workshops, sharing her passion for costumes, effects and living statue make-up with children, adults and professionals.
