Exhibition of circus posters from the archive of Dragomir Draganov

Dragomir Draganov is one of the most familiar TV faces in Bulgaria. His 30-year career at the Bulgarian National Television has passed through various screen challenges, the most popular of which remains the Sunday morning block “Tea”.
Draganov was active not only as a journalist, but also as a showman and singer. He is also known for his love of the circus arts and it is a fact that he even began his career as a circus presenter. From his earliest childhood years, he collected all sorts of artifacts related to the history of Bulgarian circus art and in the meantime he has a collection without parallel worldwide. Almost all major Bulgarian families and recognized artists bequeathed their family albums and archives to Draganov. He publishes and distributes free books and albums telling about the most important moments in the history circus in Bulgaria. The audience of CIRKOLUTION! will have the unique opportunity to see 40 original posters from the Draganov collection, printed in the period from 1930 to 1970.
Through the exhibits in the exhibition one can trace the development not only of Bulgarian poster art, but also of polygraphy and photography. Among the names of the artists stand out some of the best Bulgarian poster painters of the twentieth century such as Encho Pironkov, Dimitar Tasev, Bozhidar Ikonomov, Assen Stareishinski, Lyudmil Chekhlarov, Atanas Mikhalchev, Yani Yanev and many others.
