Hannah Scully
“Suspended in air, lost in emotion”.
By Storm is a vertical dance work inspired by the force and stillness of storms, and the feeling of growing up in lonely, weather-beaten places. Using flowing fabrics, harness dance, and counterbalance, the performers animate the facade of Toplocentrala in a site-responsive performance created for CIRCOLUTION!. Through delicate power and suspended stillness, By Storm animates both body and structure, turning the storm within into something that moves us all.

Hannah has recently shared her current research with aerial fabric and dance in Sane José, Costa Rica, The Irish Aerial Cretion Centre, Limerick and The Point, Eastleigh (England).
Hannah is a leading vertical dance artist based in Wexford, Ireland. Her debut at Dublin Fringe Festival 2024 won Irish Aerial Creation Centre’s 10th Anniversary Award for best Aerial Dance performance. Hannah has taken the vertical dance scene by storm and her style has caught the eye of CIRCOLUTION! Mini Art Fest in Sofia, Bulgaria. This is a wonderful opportunity for Hannah to debut her new vertical dance work in collaboration with Chantal McCormack. Hannah has worked with Magalie Lanriot, Amelia Rudolph and is currently working on a new show with Lee Clayden mentored by Lindsey Butcher. As she has been mentored and directed by the pioneers of Vertical Dance, its no wonder her curiosity within this art form has an exciting flare.
