Work in progress premiere, mini performance
Folk Circus is a comedic dance-circus mini-show in which Bulgarian folk dances and music meet contemporary circus art. The story follows two foreigners who encounter a folk dance ensemble for the first time and, while trying to learn how to dance, experience a series of amusing and absurd situations.
The project is a joint production of the Mini Art Foundation, choreographer Velizar Vutov, and director Dario Tabakov, with the participation of the Raina Knyaginya ensemble and clown Titania Chaos. The show features music by the Wladigeroff brothers Alexander and Konstantin.
Folk Circus is a bridge between tradition and contemporary art, aimed at children, families, and lovers of folklore and the circus. The first public performance will take place in Hall 1 of the Toplocentrala Centre for Contemporary Arts in Sofia, as part of CIRKOLUTION! Mini Art Fest 14.
With the financial support of the National Culture Fund, Creation 2024 program.
