Circus Tvaers is a children- and youth circus from Denmark, working with circus on all level. The show ”POPCORN” is a tribute to the diversity of children, courage and playfullness. Every act is a pop – a little explosion of creativity and imagination. When everybody’s individuality is popping together we get a nice vibrant mix of acrobatics, juggling, Rola bola, unicycle and much more.

Circus Tvaers is a children- and youth circus from Denmark, working with circus on all levels. The circus is based in Aarhus, Denmark, in an area where it is largely immigrants and refugees. The circus welcomes children from the age of 8 years and up every day, the children can walk in off the street and be a part of their everyday activities.
Cirkus Tvaers has existed for nearly 40 years and works with circus as a pedagogic tool for integration, personal growth and a way to learn skills – both socially and personally. Circus Tvaers is a socio-cultural project – and they do social circus. They focus on helping the youth to become somebody, before they have to become something. It is free to join and open to everyone, as long as they respect the rules of the place and respect each other. They teach various circus disciplines on many different levels, we make and perform shows and do workshops in and out of the circus. It’s a big circus family where people can come together no matter their age, background, religion, color or political opinion. They cherish cooperation, inclusion, tolerance and acceptance….and find a place for every one !!!!
Cirkus Tvaers is supported by the municipality of Aarhus, they have 4 full time employed staff and several volenteers. It is a fully equipped circus, with a big top, different vehicles and props for various disciplines.
