Workshop “Pas de deux between circus and dance” with the artists from Blueprint

Open stage

04/10/2025 2:00 pm

60 min.

With Mijin Kim, Leon Börgens, Overhead Project – where the boundaries between genres disappear

Suitable for participants aged 16+, with basic experience in movement

What happens when the circus body begins to speak the language of dance? When the space between two people becomes a stage for tenderness, tension, strength, and trust?

This workshop, led by the artists of Overhead Project (Germany), is inspired by the performance Blueprint, which is presented as part of CIRCOLUTION! Mini Art Fest 14. It is a powerful physical duo that reinterprets the classical form of pas de deux through contemporary circus and dance. Participants will be invited to explore:

  • The dynamics of partner interactions – from support to confrontation
  • Working with weight and balance, carrying, falling, and shared physical responsibility
  • Stage presence and emotional storytelling through movement
  • Improvisation and composition, without the need for words

The workshop is open to dancers, circus artists, actors, and curious explorers of the body with basic physical training. No previous experience in acrobatics is required—only an openness to physical dialogue.

What to expect:

  • Working in small groups and in partnership
  • Exploring the language of touch and movement
  • Improving technique, trust, and communication without words
  • Feeling the body as an object and subject in space
  • Immersing yourself in the specific physical style of Overhead Project

Why join?

Because dance and circus can tell complex, profound, and human stories—and your body can be a storyteller too. The workshop offers not only technique but also an encounter—with yourself, with others, and with new ways of communicating through the body.
